Department Store

The massive golden horseshoe erected over the shopping mall stands at number three in Reuters’ list of world’s ugliest buildings and monuments. Tuuri is a village in Alavus Municipality in Western Finland, a part of the Southern Ostrobothnia Region. The village is home to a population of around 780 inhabitants and the second-largest department store in Finland – the Veljekset Keskinen. As a symbol for Tuuri, meaning “luck” in Finnish, a large horse shore stands next to the large shopping center.

To where it has grown to become the second-largest department store in Finland. Veljekset Keskinen was established in 1976 and is currently run by the fifth generation of the Keskinen family. Situated in Töysä, within 26 km of Ahtarin Golf, Kalliorinteen Mökit Ruskapirtti offers accommodation with air conditioning. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. The name “Tuuri” originates in the old Finnish god of luck, harvest and success, Tuuri; he was the equivalent of Norse Thor and Estonian Taara. In Modern Finnish the appellative tuuri means luck. The village is known for the second biggest department store in Finland, Veljekset Keskinen.
